Please find below our terms and conditions. Please note that our commitment to customer satisfaction and our reputation is of utmost importance to us, and we will always endeavour to help.
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT TERMS
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. A date is not deemed secure until the deposit has been paid.
To confirm an order, a deposit of £100 or other agreed amount is required. This will secure your requested date and cake order.
The outstanding balance is required no later than 1 month before the collection/delivery.
If you wish to have alterations that affect the cost after this date, the balance will be adjusted accordingly.
Payments can be made to Lizzie Calder by cash or bank transfer.
We retain the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, such as fire or ill health. In this instance any monies taken will be refunded in full.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cancel your order up to 1 month before the requested date, all monies paid, except the deposit, will be refunded via a bank transfer.
Any cancellation made after 1 month prior to the cake due date, no monies will be refunded.
COLLECTION/DELIVERY/SET UP
We only deliver wedding cakes. Deliver to the Thanet area and surrounding towns within a 10 mile radius is free. After that, a delivery charge of 80p a mile is charged.
It is the client's responsibility to ensure that you have given us the correct delivery information, and that someone is available to receive your cake. A signature will be required for the receipt of the cake upon delivery.
We will endeavour to ensure that your cake is displayed at its best. We cannot be held responsible for the location of the cake at the venue. Please ensure that the display location has been arranged with the venue and the table is level, stable, and strong enough to hold the cake.
Please also remember that chocolate covered cakes can melt in warm conditions, such as in a marquee on a hot day, or when set up in direct sunlight.
Once the cake has been collected or delivered, set up and signed for, we are unable to accept liability for any interference with or damage to the cake thereafter.
A photograph of the cake will be taken by us, prior to departure, to verify that the cake has been set up to our satisfaction.
Other cakes can be collected from 13 Wellis Gardens, Margate, Kent, CT9 5RG.
If the cake is collected, the full responsibility for the transportation and safety of the cake is with the client, and Lizzie Bizzie Cakes will not be responsible for any damage to the cake after it has been collected. We would recommend you purchase some non-slip matting. We do everything in our power to provide a well structured cake, but please note, cakes can be fragile, so you must drive carefully and slowly.
DESIGN/ALTERATIONS
It is your responsibility to read and check the quote thoroughly, any amendments should be made in writing. If requested, we will endeavour to adjust the design where possible, but sometimes this may not be possible according to the nature of the request or amount of notice given. If the alteration affects the cost, or preparation work for the original design as already been undertaken, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly.
Please warn us when you pay your deposit if you are undecided on the design. We reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control may compromise the quality of the finished cake, EG melting due to weather. Each cake is made individually by hand, so although every effort is made to ensure consistency, a small amount of variation may occur.
ALLERGIES AND SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
All cakes are made in a kitchen that handles nuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, and alcohol.
NON-EDIBLE ITEMS
Most cakes contain small proportions of non-edible items. It is the client's responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption. EG, support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, wires in sugar flowers, Swarovski crystals, flower picks, and flower tape.
Some flowers are poisonous and not suitable for use on food products. You should notify your florist of your intention to use flowers on food to ensure that non-poisonous flowers are used.
BEST BEFORE DATE
Your cake is baked to ensure it is fresh for the date of your event. We cannot guarantee the quality if it is consumed more than 48 hours after the event. Our cakes are made entirely of natural ingredients, so we would like to remind you that because of this, they will not have the extended shelf life of most supermarket cakes, which contain additives and preservatives.
STAND HIRE
Cake stands can be hired at £15.00 per cake stand.
A bond of £100.00 is required to book a cake stand. This will be held until the cake stand is returned by the customer, or other nominated party, to Lizzie Bizzie Cakes, within 5 days of the event date.
If the stand is received back with any damage, missing parts, or is unfit for future use, we will retain the whole deposit. Please check with your venue first, as many offer cake stands as part of their wedding packages.
COMPLAINTS
Hopefully you will never have any reason to be unhappy with your cake. However, if you are not happy with your cake for any reason, within reason, we would consider offering a part, or full refund. Unfortunately, we cannot refund your money if you do not let us know what is wrong within 24 hours of the collection/delivery time. Any complaints must be made in writing, and evidence of the fault should be included. A refund is only given if the uneaten cakes are returned, and are unsuitable for consumption. This is to ensure that the same mistake NEVER happens again!
In the very unlikely event of late delivery (defined as delivery after the start of the wedding breakfast), the compensation will be 10% of the full cost. We ask for patience with factors that are beyond our control, such as severe weather and traffic conditions, as we cannot be held liable for any such delays.
